In recent times, there’s been a new wave of success for colouring books, albums of printed decorative drawings, often in Art Deco style.
Colouring these books should have, in their creators’ intentions, an anti-stress effect. Very sweetly, a few friends chose to make me this gift.
The problem is, I approach the colouring of these pages with such concentration, anxiety and precision to completely erase any therapeutic effect.
Even more, being a painter, to simply colour something drawn by someone else seems to me a rather useless task.
So, I abandoned in the garden the sheets I had already coloured and… worms, butterflies, ants and every kind of insect came to lie upon them.

Nelle intenzioni dei produttori colorare queste pagine ha un effetto anti-stress. Alcuni amici hanno voluto, affettuosamente, farmene dono.
Il problema è che io affronto la pagina da colorare con concentrazione, ansia e precisione tali da annullare ogni effetto terapeutico.
Non solo, essendo io pittrice, mi pare che il semplice colorare qualcosa disegnato da altri sia un’attività piuttosto inutile.
Allora ho abbandonato i fogli che avevo già colorato in giardino e così… lombrichi, farfalle, formiche e ogni specie d’insetto ci si è posato sopra.
